Decided to spend some quality time giving a full tune up to the Celica, and dedicate some time to figuring out an alignment issue on the Mini.
More pics in comments.

The Honda heart of this Mini.
This poor car has just been sitting waiting for us to get back to it for the better part of five years.

I tell you what, it was a whole lot harder and more time consuming than we'd initially thought it was going to be.
It started out as my own project almost ten years ago. It was yellow back then and it had an 1100 cc engine at the time. It had a spun crank bearing when I purchased it, so I took it upon myself to rebuild it.
I got all my parts from MiniMania for an engine rebuild, along with a new clutch, CV joints, drive axles, carb rebuild kit, brake conversion kit, and went to town on it.
This was while I was working my way through college as a mechanic, so I had access to a lot of good shop equipment during my off shift time.
I drove it about as my DD for a while and, as you do, I decided it needed MOAR POWAAAR!
So I approached my dad and my brother in law (who are both talented mechanics as well) to gauge their interest in investing in a fully built Honda swap. My brother in law sourced the engine and did the build up in California while we did the cutting and subframe swap here in Utah.
We trailered up the car and took it to California to receive the engine.
I had to be back in Utah for work stuff before the install was 100% complete, so they finished it off and brought it back. My brother in law had it dynoed, and according to him it was putting 215hp to the ground (I've never had it dynoed myself so I don't know how accurate that figure is).
Right now we are having an alignment issue that four alignment shops have failed to diagnose, so I was just doing bit of recon today. After almost 5 years of not touching this car, it was mostly refamiliarizing myself. Once this little zinger is fully completed its gonna be one hellova fun ride.
After I did the initial rebuild I used to go through drive throughs backwards just to fuck with people haha.

Most definitely!
I can't wait to get it to the point where its drivable on a regular basis. It might be next summer before I do, cause my dad (who's garage its in) has kind of lost interest, and I've got a wedding coming up to pay for (May 24th), but maybe I'll see if I can get it rolling around the neighborhood a bit for some vids in a couple of weeks. It's supposed to be pretty crappy weather here for the next week or so. Maybe next Friday/Saturday I'll see if I can get out there and start it up. I've gotta go out that way to pick up some of my UNIX books I've had in storage, so its as good an excuse as any hehe
